Zach Braff's Scrubs Pitch is So Good, The Movie Needs to Happen ASAP
With just about every hit show from the '00s getting a reboot, revival, or at least a special reunion episode, we're pretty sure Scrubs too will be back at some point.
Could there be a revival of Scrubs, a medical comedy series that ran from 2001 to 2010 and attracted millions of fans?
Well, if it does, there is one thing Zach Braff, who played J.D., an intern turned internal medicine doctor, would absolutely love to have in the series reunion.
"My dream storyline — I always say this every time a reporter asks me — is ... you know how much they wanted to make their independent movie, 'Dr. Acula'? My dream is that, somehow, they come into some money and they finally get a chance to execute their lifelong dream of being independent filmmakers and making the 'Dr. Acula' Dracula movie," Braff said in an interview with Looper, referring to a dream shared by the characters of J.D. and his fried Turk (Donald Faison).
What Braff meant is a script Dr. Acula that J.D. wrote in Season 5. It would have to star J.D. as a vampire doctor.
3 Years Later, Big Bang Theory Stars Still Making Millions Off the Show
The pair recently reunited in a 30-second T-Mobile commercial that aired during the Super Bowl earlier this year, singing a parody of the 1957 West Side Story song I Feel Pretty. When fans saw them together again, they erupted in joy, applauding the commercial for bringing them together. "My only problem with it is how short it is," wrote one Scrubs fan on Reddit.
Some of the more eagle-eyed Redditors noticed that both Braff and Faison were wearing their Scrubs colors in the commercial, and asked themselves a good question – could they be hinting at something?
Crazy Home Alone 1 & 2 Theory That Kinda Actually Explains Everything
The commercial created a lot of buzz, and when asked by ComicBookMovie if there will be a revival of the sitcom, Zach Braff said: "I think we might see it one day.
"There's so much clamoring for it (which I'm so grateful for) that I imagine there will be some incarnation. Whether it's a TV movie or limited series or something. We'll do something," the actor said.
In the "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" podcast, Braff once again made it clear that he would love to play J.D. if a Scrubs renewal were to happen. With the recent trend of spin-offs, sequels, prequels and what not, this may well be the case!
