Turns out it can all be about a Christmas miracle after all.

The first two Home Alone movies are considered Christmas classics for a reason. When it comes to classic movies, we rarely criticize them too much and indulgently rewatch them every year.

However, one cannot help but wonder how things could have turned out so conveniently for Kevin. A Reddit fan theory has offered a fairly simple explanation.

The theory points out that in both the first and second films, Kevin makes his wish in the attic - and after the fact his family has to rush somewhere immediately.

"I hypothesize there is something stowed away in their attic granting the ability to grant wishes, but it behaves more like a monkey's paw," the theory author, Spatula151, suggested.

Who knows, really? One fan jokingly mused about the possibility that the Home Alone franchise was actually a crossover with The Wish Kid, a show in which Macaulay Culkin played a boy who had a magical baseball glove that made his wishes come true.

However, at the time Home Alone was released, the multiverse trend was not that popular. So chances are that the beloved movies have even more secrets that we have yet to reveal.

The first Home Alone movie was released in 1990, followed by the sequel in 1992. To this day, the Culkin-led franchise remains a top choice for a cozy Christmas movie night.
