Why Does Rob From The Idol Look So Familiar?
The actor has managed to work with cult directors even though his career began not so long ago.
The fourth episode of The Idol introduced a new character who immediately attracted a lot of attention.
Rob is an actor and ex-boyfriend of Jocelyn, whom the singer broke up with for cheating on her with a co-star.
Jocelyn invited him to the party when she found out that his meeting with Tedros was no accident.
Rob was played by actor Karl Glusman, who may be familiar to many not only because of his involvement in several major projects, but also because he was married to Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz.
Karl's acting biography began with the filming of The Iconographer in 2008. A series of temporary jobs in episodes of series and commercials followed, after which the actor went to Europe to restart his career.
There he met director Gaspar Noe, who invited the actor to play the leading role in the erotic drama Love, the main principle of which was naturalistic sex scenes.
The premiere at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival was attended by a record number of viewers, filling the entire 2,200-seat screening room.
The film proved so frank and shocking that it was denied distribution in several countries and remained a festival project.
In Cannes, Karl met Tom Ford, who invited him to star in the noir psychological thriller Nocturnal Animals with Amy Adams.
At the same time, the thriller The Neon Demon was being filmed, in which Glusman was once again given the lead role and became Elle Fanning's partner.
Other actor's notable projects include Gypsy, Above Suspicion and Wounds. In 2019, Karl again starred in the Gaspar Noe's movie Lux Aeterna.
In 2020 he appeared in the sci-fi series Devs, dedicated to the activities of a special unit that simulates the events of the past and future. Glusman got the role of a Russian agent named Sergei.
Another premiere where the actor appeared in the same year is the historical drama Greyhound with Tom Hanks in the main role.
The actor then had a starring role in the thriller Watcher, where he played the husband of the main character who is being followed.
Karl's next work was the action movie God is a Bullet with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The movie tells about a detective who finds out that his ex-wife has been killed and his daughter kidnapped by Satanists.
He decides to track down the cult himself. The cult is led by Cyrus, who was played by Glusman.
