Wanda Proves Her Worth With More Screentime Than One of the OG Avengers
Which Avenger is the most deserving of attention, according to Marvel?
Marvel fans have been arguing about who the best Avenger was since 2008's Iron Man hit the screens.
The movie started something amazing, a fantastic run of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that thus far includes 30 films and 20 series on different networks.
Such a big number of films and series means that the MCU audience has spent lots of hours and minutes watching and falling in love with the lead superheroes of the MCU. However, finding out who is the best, most important, or fan-favorite Avenger is not that easy. Tastes differ.

What viewers can do is find out which Avenger is the most deserving of attention, according to Marvel. This can be done by counting the screentime every superpowerful protagonist has gotten from the MCU's very first Iron Man movie to the end of Phase Four, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Such a calculation (via) including both the original six and the new generation of Avengers comes with a few surprises. One such surprise is that Captain America is not in the top-three Marvel superheroes with the most screentime.
Of course, number one is Iron Man with record 356 minutes. Even though Tony Stark met his untimely end in Avengers: Endgame which is Phase 3, the character had a head start with his trilogy, appeared in every Avenger movie, in one Spider-Man movie, and, of course, Captain America: Civil War.
Another protagonist of Civil War, Captain America comes fourth with 242 minutes of screentime. He was beaten by Thor (290 minutes) and Peter Parker (245 minutes).
The Moment DC Cinematic Universe Went Off the Rails For Good
The second big surprise comes with Scarlet Witch being placed right after Steve Rogers and taking fifth place with 205 minutes of screentime. Wanda Maximoff is the new generation of Avengers and didn't even appear in all Avenger movies, but in Phase 4, she starred in a nine-episode series WandaVision which helped her count a lot.
Besides, Wanda made an appearance in another recent project, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so she feels like one of the most popular MCU characters of Phase 4.
Scarlet Witch got more time than the three original Avengers: Black Widow (175 minutes), The Hulk (165 minutes), Hawkeye ( 145 minutes). Even though each of them appeared in a Phase 4 project, their screentime shows that they are becoming less and less significant with the Young Avengers getting closer.
