For Quantum Leap's Ben Song and Hannah Carson, their shared love was the only thing that kept them together. In a universe like this, where it's known that leapers have no control over where or when they end up, this is not only a miracle, but a precedent to be studied and cherished.
Although Addison suggested in the third episode that it was the strength of their love that kept them together, Nanrisa Lee, who portrays Jenn Chu, must disagree.
Why Do Ben and Hannah Always End Up Together
Speaking to TVLine about Quantum Leap's midseason finale, which aired December 13, the actress noted that she believes the bond between two characters is very important, but there was always something bigger in the picture. The audience and the characters just haven't figured it out yet.
“Hannah is there for a purpose. There’s a reason why this keeps happening. They have developed a love for each other and that is a certain aspect of it, but in the larger perspective, I think it’s bigger than that and we’ll see what happens,” she teased.
After the promising midseason finale, it becomes clear that whatever it takes to bring Ben home would also be an answer to figuring out his unbreakable bond with Hannah. The only question is whether the work will pay off.
Ben and Hannah aren't the only ones whose status has been left a mystery: the finale of the original series back in 1993 left Sam Beckett lost in time and space, so there's hope that the same revelation could provide a satisfying conclusion to his story as well.
The only sad news for all Quantum Leap fans out there is that it is currently unknown when the show will return to NBC. It is clear that the second part of season 2 will be released sometime in 2024, but the show is nowhere to be seen on the network's schedule for January.
