Simone Ashley Has a Warning for Bridgerton Fans About Season 3
To the delight of millions of fans around the globe, Bridgerton has been officially confirmed to grace our screens yet again with another dramatic season.
The highly anticipated season 3 is currently in production, and as it's steadily approaching, the cast has been dropping some teasers about what's to come. And to keep us on the edge of our seats while we're waiting for it to wrap up, actress Simone Ashley gave the fans a warning. Curious to find out what it is? Well, read on!
Before we get into all the details about the new season, let's recap where the series left off at the end of season 2. Firstly, Eloise Bridgerton discovered that her best friend, Penelope Featherington, was Lady Whistledown all along, and they had a huge falling out. The fan-favorite couple, Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma, on the other hand, ended up happily married after a turbulent journey.
But while Kanthony might have gotten their happy ending, Penelope didn't have that luck. As you may recall, we've been watching her pine for her friend Colin Bridgerton since the very first season of the hit series. And in the final moments of season 2, she learned, much to her devastation, that he only ever saw her as a friend and that he would never court her. So, fans were left thinking there was no hope for those two.
But what's awaiting us in the third season? Quite the plot twist, as it turns out. Actress Nicola Coughlan, who portrays the beloved Penelope, revealed that Colin and Penelope's relationship is going to take a turn. In fact, she confirmed for the first time during a FYSEE panel that their love story will be the main focus of season 3 and that she had kept that secret since the beginning of the second season.
So, the third season will be entertaining, to say the least. So much so that actress Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma in the show, has warned fans that they're not ready for what's coming! "She's galloping, she's long, long into the sunset," Ashley disclosed to People about Penelope's character. "I'm so excited for everyone to see Luke and Nicola's season. They are carrying it so graciously, smashing it. I think the world's not ready. They're both stunning, both such talented actors."
Bridgerton has taken the world by storm and continues to do so year after year. And from what we know so far about its next season, one thing's for sure – it's going to be a hell of a ride, filled with romance and drama!
