This might be a genius way to bring back old Riverdale spirits.

Although fans didn't have much hope for Riverdale 's finale, as the show proved itself to be non sequitur in the previous season, it looks like the showrunners are on their way to redeeming themselves.

Well, it might be a little too late to fix all the character issues and finish the storylines they started, but the finale of Riverdale could still be saved by giving fans the spirit of a giant high school reunion.

In the most absurd Riverdale fashion, the reunion had to be set in the past, as the final season will take place in the '50s.

While some fans speculate that the ending will take place in the present day, it's safe to say that the majority of the season will be spent with the characters in the earlier days, as that's all that was shown in the season trailer.

At first, this decision raised some eyebrows among the audience, but with the realization that another universe could easily bring back all the fan-favorite characters, the mood has changed.

Earlier this month, Mark Consuelos, who plays Hiram Lodge, confirmed his return for the show's final season.

Considering that Hiram Lodge was last seen alive at the end of season 5, it seems that characters may not only play a different role in this new 50s universe but also come back from the dead.

Hiram is not the only one returning to reunite with the main cast for the finale.

According to Decider, other characters returning from the dead include Dilton Doiley and Ben Button, portrayed by Daniel Yang and Moses Thiessen.

You can also expect to see the familiar faces of Ethel Muggs and Clay Walker, as well as meet new characters like Julian Blossom, who was previously only known to viewers in a doll form.

Fans are ready to see the big Riverdale reunion and greet their favorites back on their screens. However, judging by the news, some important people are still missing:

"Where's Polly and Jason?? Polly and her children were there in Riverdale when the comet hit. And since they're bringing back dead characters and even adding another Blossom you'd think Jason would be back too," Redditor Lanky_Tax9271 said, bringing up another two characters fans would die to see this season.

Hopefully, the decision of bringing so many characters back will allow Riverdale to get the spirit of the early days and give the fans a finale they'll remember with smiles on their faces.

Join the premiere on March 29 on The CW.
