One Supernatural Actor Played Two Characters 6 Years Apart (And No One Noticed)
This detail calls for a rewatch.
There are many things that the show gets away with without even the most attentive fans noticing. However, as the years go by and more and more people re-watch the episodes, more and more interesting details come to light.
Similar costumes, props, and even actors appear more than once.
This is exactly the case with Supernatural, and one particular actor who managed to appear twice in seasons 2 and 8 of the show portrays two different but very similar characters.
You'd think that if you wanted this to go unnoticed, you'd at least cast the actor in the opposite role of the one he's already played.
However, the casting directors and writers of Supernatural decided to go bold and gave Ty Olsson the chance to play not one, but two vampires on the show.
If his appearance in season 2 may have gone unnoticed, the role of Benny Lafitte, who was first introduced in season 8 and then reappeared in season 10, stuck with the audience more.
However, there were too many similarities between the two. For example, both were bartenders, both swore off killing, and both tried to survive on animal blood or donated blood.
Although Ty's story is cute, it's not that unique for Supernatural.
Since the show was filmed in the Vancouver area in Canada, every available character actor during the years of Supernatural probably joined them at some point. And there were certainly some who joined more than once.
Actress Carmen Moore, for example, appeared in Supernatural three times: as Officer Miranda Bates, as the unnamed doctor, and as the angel Serafina.
Actor Jackson Berlin also got to play two different characters, once as the shapeshifter and the second time as a demon named Gerald.
If you're feeling nostalgic and want to check out other recurring actors and actresses from the series, you can stream Supernatural on Netflix, MAX, or Amazon Prime Video.
