Newest MCU Casting Rumor Has Fans Begging For it to Be True
Marvel Studios have tried and had somewhat questionable success with bringing the Fantastic Four to the big screen. The new film about the four superheroes finally joining MCU couldn't be more exciting for fans.
For now, we don't have much information on the new fantastic four yet but wait until you hear the latest rumor about the cast. The new Reed Richards might be portrayed by the handsome devil Tom Ellis himself.
We've already seen Mister Fantastic in the Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, which was a fan favorite since the fans pitched John Krasinski for the role countless times. But as Sam Raimi previously explained in DS MoM's audio commentary, John was cast as an alternate universe version of Richards, "It's so funny that Kevin cast John [Krasinski] because the fans had a dream of who the perfect Reed Richards would be... And because this is an alternate universe, I think Kevin said, 'Let's make that dream come true.' I've always really enjoyed all of his performances."
She-Hulk Writers Deliberately Trolled Marvel Show's Haters
Such a decision leaves the door open for directors to cast anyone they want for the upcoming movie. According to the rumor posted by @_CharlesMurphy, Tom Ellis might be the new Reed Richards, and fans are very excited about that.
Reddit didn't take long to start a discussion on the subject. Many fans started to cite the iconic lines of Lucifer, another comic book-based character Ellis is known for, saying that they believe Tom Ellis would be an amazing Reed Richards.
"Cannot wait for him to refer to Namor as "Aqua Douche." They'd be the best frenemies ever," is a funny poke at the nickname Ellis's character used for his frenemy on Lucifer.
"He was excellent in Lucifer and held that show together single-handedly with his charisma. I could see him pulling off this role really well," says one of the Redditors.
Many went even further, suggesting other Fantastic Four characters Tom Ellis would be able to pull off. "I had him pegged as more of a Victor myself. But Reed works as well," was one of the popular picks. Another hot take was Doom, cause apparently Ellis' off-the-charts charisma really needs to be used.
Overall, the average temperature in the room is hot for Ellis joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All that we are left with is the hope that the rumors are true and that we will have the pleasure of seeing a new charismatic Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four.
