With Captain America salaries, Chris Evans now has the freedom to focus on passion projects or even take some time away from the industry.

Chris Evans is one of the luckiest actors alive. The Marvel acting gig that the actor was initially inclined to turn down brought him not only worldwide fame but also a huge fortune that made his career much more diverse and his acting choices – free.

Evan's first recognizable role was in a teen comedy, Not Another Teen Movie, but it wasn't until 2005 that the actor joined the Marvel Comics Universe as Human Torch in Fantastic Four. Fortunately, Marvel Studios decided Evans was too good of an actor to waste him on two poorly reviewed Fantastic Four films and offered him a six-movie contract to join the MCU as Captain America.

Evans told BBC Radio 1 that signing such a long contract was not an easy decision, but eventually, the actor realized that it was the best decision of his life, and numerous fans would definitely agree.

Besides being a career breakthrough, the role of Captain America brought Evans a huge salary. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Evans' net worth is $80 million.

In total, the actor was paid about $75-$100 million for his work in the MCU which started with a relatively modest salary of $300,000 for Captain America: The First Avenger and ended with $15 million per film for Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame.

In his interview with People that called him Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, Evans admitted that his MCU salaries helped him feel secure and prioritize a healthy work-life balance, which means he can now be pickier about the projects he joins and even take some time off.

However, the star also added that he already missed being part of the MCU, so not all hope is lost for long-term Captain America fans.

Though Steve Rogers has passed his shield to Sam Wilson, fans might still see Chris Evans in cameo scenes or playing some version of Captain America. Though the actor denies such a possibility, the MCU fans know that nothing is impossible in the MCU multiverse.
