Mark Wahlberg Ready to Revive His Hit Series: 'Ready to Come and Cut Loose'
Mark Wahlberg's career as an executive producer got a jumpstart with his hit sitcom Entourage. For the fans of the show, there is great news: all the participants are looking at bringing it back and are ready for action!
Entourage was airing for seven years starting in 2004 and finished with a big-screen movie in 2015 that drew the conclusion.
At that point, it didn't seem like there was any point in continuing this great sitcom based on Mark Wahlberg's eventful road to fame… But years later, its main heroes find this idea quite appealing!
The rumors of the Entourage creator Doug Ellin considering relaunching the series have been around for quite some time now.
His colleagues, including Wahlberg, were always open about liking the idea, too; but recently, Doug confirmed that the reboot was in the works — and it has the original cast starring there.
Apparently, Doug has been brewing this for two years, and he had the heads-up from the five core members; the one thing stopping him was the fact that the actors' schedules were way too busy.
But after two years of pushing the start of the work back further and further, now the team actually began work on the project.
There's still just one thing holding back the Entourage reboot's production: Mark Wahlberg is still extremely busy.
It won't prevent the show from happening, but the date is still elusive; however, Wahlberg himself confirmed that he wants to work on it… Despite not being sure how it will turn out considering how much time has passed.
"It would look like an older group of guys probably doing things more like me, going to church and you know hopefully having families and getting up early and working out," Mark Wahlberg joked, "But I would definitely support it."
While speaking about the Entourage reboot, the actor recalled how the original series started — with him taking the entire main cast out to Las Vegas for a bit of fun.
"Before we shot the pilot, I brought all the guys to Vegas… It was a bit of a chemistry thing, getting ready to come and cut loose," Mark shared.
It's hard to expect the same vibes from a reboot but with everyone onboard, pumped and ready, and happy to bring their favorite show back to life, it's also impossible to think that the team won't create something amazing, if different.
We'll have to wait and see — and likely, not for long. As Doug Ellin claims, "Mark Wahlberg just needs to call HBO and make it happen, and all will be good."
