Luke Grimes refuses to watch Yellowstone. Grimes revealed earlier this year (and ahead of the season five premiere) that he has yet to watch a single episode. The reason? Grimes believes diving into the show from the perspective of audiences would taint his performance of Kayce Dutton moving forward.

The 38-year-old actor, who may resemble the heart and soul of Yellowstone , explained his reasoning for refusing to watch the show: "I don't watch [Yellowstone]," Grimes told CowboysandIndians.com. "I will one day, but I don't want to see what the audience sees because I think that would make it harder to play [Kayce]."

"[There's] something interesting about Kayce being the most morally centered. And I think from the outside looking in that's what you see, but I think for Kayce, he doesn't feel that way at all. I think he thinks he's a terrible person," Grimes expanded on the character who has become a fan favorite. "And when you look at [Kayce] from the outside, and you know that he's not, and you can see his big bleeding heart, you really do feel for the guy."

In Yellowstone, Kayce Dutton is a multifaceted character. He's a former Navy SEAL that found the love of his life on the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. As such, the relationship he has with his wife (Monica) and son (Tate) heavily contrasts his fractured relationship with his father, John Dutton. The conflicting way he regards the Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences that love and admire the youngest Dutton son.

"Irredeemable" Character Yellowstone Fans Had Enough Of Already

Nevertheless, Grimes believes that sitting down and watching episodes of Yellowstone like everyone else would affect his acting choices. Still, he's excited to one day have the luxury of sitting down and catching up on past episodes. However, that will not occur until Yellowstone finishes its final season. "I'm actually very excited to watch the whole thing one day because I want to see what everybody is doing. There are so many worlds within the show. And there's a lot of performances I haven't gotten to see yet."

Luke Grimes isn't the first actor to admit he or she hasn't watched a TV show or film they starred in. Notwithstanding, it's a unique angle as most actors are curious to discover how they are represented on the big screen. Thus, it's fair to compliment Luke Grimes for his dedication and commitment to the role.
