Idris Elba’s 2022 Thriller Finally Made It to Netflix, But There’s a Catch
The thrilling box office flop isn’t for all Netflix’s viewers to check out right now.
It may be an extremely hard mission to track down all the new arrivals on Netflix ’s platform every single week, but the viewers just couldn’t ignore that highly anticipated horror movie which landed on the streaming service a couple of days ago.
However, things with Netflix are pretty tricky sometimes, and this case isn’t an exception.
A thrilling film Beast starring Idris Elba was quick to become a hit and hold a third position in the top 10 chart, but only in the UK and Ireland since the audience from these countries was lucky enough to watch the brand new arrival on Netflix over the weekend.
Released back in 2022, Beast follows recently widowed Dr. Nate Daniels, portrayed by Idris Elba, who, in an attempt to commemorate his late wife, takes his two teenage daughters on a trip to Africa where he first met their mother.
The family decides to stay at a game reserve managed by Daniels' old friend Martin Battles who, being a wildlife biologist, may help them explore the unique flora and fauna of the continent.
Everything goes according to plan until a revengeful lion starts stalking Nate and his daughters after having escaped from poachers, now seeing all the human beings as his fiercest enemies.
Upon its release, Beast showed controversial results, grossing $59 million against the initial budget of $36 million and thus not breaking even in the box office.
Still, the critics and the viewers were relatively pleased by the movie, attributing it scores of 69% and 77% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, with many reviewers praising directing, visual effects and Idris Elba’s powerful performance.
How Can You Watch Beast At Home Now?
Beast is currently available for streaming on Netflix for the viewers in the UK and Ireland, but the US audience can still check the movie out on Prime Video or Fandango at Home.
