Harrison Ford Is Joining Marvel as Another Actor's Replacement
The rumors about our beloved Han Solo joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been going on since late September 2022.
The rumor is that Harrison Ford will be a part of the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. The actor will supposedly step into the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, filling the shoes of William Hurt, who sadly passed away in March 2022.
As we know from the comics, Ross is a crucial member of the team, so naturally, the MCU would have to find a way to include the character. The talk online was that Marvel has been eyeing Ford for some time now, and that would be a fantastic choice to replace Hurt, although the studio denied the rumors initially.
"Worst Marvel Show to Ever Exist": Fans Absolutely Hated She-Hulk Finale
In a new episode of The Hot Mic With John Rocha and Jeff Sneider Podcast, Jeff shared an update, saying that he might have asked the wrong question and that he heard that, "Harrison Ford has, in fact, closed a deal to play General "Thunderbolt" Ross, and that the movie is Captain America 4," and goes on to add, "and that is potentially why Harrison Ford is not in "Thunderbolts" yet." The comment section of the podcast predictably went wild, with a general consensus that this would be a brilliant move by Marvel.
We still have not heard any comments from Marvel Studios in regard to whether or not Ford as Ross will be making his first appearance in Captain America: New World Order, but the talk of the fans is getting louder. If rumors turn out to be true, we might see some character development for General Ross. Even though this character was a part of the MCU for over a decade, we are yet to see the Red Hulk side of him. There is no way for us to know for sure that this part of the character will be explored on screen as in comic books. But given the supposed addition of a star of such a caliber to that Universe, it makes sense to assume Marvel will use all the potential of this character.
Newest MCU Casting Rumor Has Fans Begging For it Not to Be True
Marvel is known for holding the suspense, intriguing, and firing up their fans, but we are hoping to get the confirmation soon. But even if Marvel once again denies Ford's involvement, that won't mean that the fans will stop waiting for Han Solo in the MCU. And we will love this whole thing to turn out just like the worst-kept secret with 3 Spideys in one movie. You know the one we're talking about, of course you do.
Captain America: New World Order is set to debut on May 3, 2024. Thunderbolts will follow soon after on 26 July, 2024.
