General Hospital’s Good Girl May Go Bad Any Moment, Actress Teases
Now that Spencer is officially gone, what should we expect?
Summary:
- General Hospital has been on the air since the 1960s and has brought many super couples to the viewers.
- Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine were the latest, until Spencer died and left the show for a while.
- Now that Trina is single and still traumatized by the loss, the actress who portrays her, Tabyana Ali, believes she can take an unexpected turn.
Unfortunately for General Hospital fans, the show's cast has grown so large that it's hard to give everyone equal screen time. With characters coming and going (but mostly coming, as of late), the writers' priorities change depending on which storyline they most want to bring to life.
Since Trina Robinson said goodbye to the man she thought was the love of her life, Spencer Cassadine, the writers have taken some time to give her character some space to grieve. Although many General Hospital viewers campaigned to give her more screen time and attention, the new Trina has yet to arrive.
Who Will Trina End Up With?
Even though we're so used to viewing soap opera characters through the prism of their romantic entanglements, there's so much more for Tabyana Ali to explore with Trina now that Spencer is gone. This loss has undoubtedly had an impact on Trina, and now she must figure out how to move forward with her life on her own.
There are many avenues that Trina could explore now, but Ali is the most excited to explore the darker side of her character. If, of course, the writers will help her figure it out. So far, as much as the actress is interested in making Trina at least slightly villainous, she can't imagine her being mean.
Ali mentioned Trina's possible transformation in her interview with Soap Opera Digest:
“I think she’s such a kind person. I would like her to have a vendetta story or a revenge story. Or the love of her life is gone and now she just turned evil a little bit. But I don’t know how much that would be possible. She’s such a kind-hearted person at her core,” she shared.
The only problem is that since Esme, Trina's only real enemy throughout the series, is also gone, the personal vendetta doesn't seem so possible. However, one of the best things about soaps is that we never know what will happen next.
So if you are interested in finding out who Trina really is outside of her romance with Spencer that ended in tragedy, you can tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC.
