Forget White Lotus S3, Creator Teases a Tanya Prequel

The White Lotus – a show that unexpectedly rose to the pedestal of the best series of recent years after the first season and strengthened its position after the second.

The first season received 10 Emmy statuettes, in addition to numerous audience responses.

The decision to renew the project for a second season in such a situation was indisputable, even though it was originally conceived as a miniseries.

However, the second season spoke even more boldly about the problems of modern society and revealed new characters even more deeply.

Along with a number of new shining stars, the second season also saw the return of one character from the first season – Tanya McQuoid.

And she was there for good reason – Jennifer Coolidge, who played Tanya, became an unconditional favorite among fans of the series.

Recently it was announced that The White Lotus may have a prequel dedicated to the young Tanya McQuoid. This was announced by the show's creator, Mike White, as part of a joint appearance with Coolidge at the Vivid Sydney festival:

"I absolutely think [a Tanya spinoff's] possible, we were just talking about that. It's a funny idea. And making Jennifer, you know, 20 years younger, that would be fun too. I think Jennifer's like, 'Sure, let's do it!'"

In the first season, we realized that you can watch three things forever: water falling, fire burning, and Jennifer Coolidge playing Tanya.

The rich also cry, and Tanya cries more often than others. Maybe that is why the viewers fell in love with this character.

In the first season of the series, Jennifer's character was conceived as a supporting role. But Jennifer Coolidge was so great, that she was given much more screen time in the second season.

The whole image of Tanya, deeply hidden complexes, obsessions and half-childish behavior – touch the viewers' secret strings.

Mike White is an old friend of Jennifer's and wrote the role of Tanya specifically for her. And he was right: Coolidge won her first Emmy for the role.

It can already be said that the prequel, if it happens, will be a huge success. The release date for the third season of The White Lotus has not been announced yet, but it is known for sure that the action of the series will be transferred to Australia.
