DC Fandom Devastated Over Cavill Exiting Stage Once Again: "Absolute Disgrace"
If Black Adam's push to return Superman back into the DCU got your hopes up... it's time to get 'em back down, apparently.
Hardly had fans got the chance to celebrate Henry Cavill 's return to the role of Superman after Black Adam premiere, Warner Bros. went full buzzkill mode and moved towards what appears to be a major reboot, putting pretty much every big DC project on thin ice.
With Black Adam sequel now "unlikely", multiple pop culture insiders have reported that Henry Cavill's short-lived comeback has come to an end, and he will no longer be a part of the DC universe future. Yes, right after he exited The Witcher to actually bring Man of Steel back to screens.

Fans were basically left speechless in the wake of the news, with emotions on Twitter ranging from pure outrage to anguish and despair.
"The DC cinematic universe has been one of the most confusing things to ever exist," Twitter user JeziahKoerner noted in what might be one of the most politely-phrased social media reactions.
Other fans were quick to criticize Warner Bros., and specifically new leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran, as an "absolute disgrace" after reports of Henry Cavill's exit surfaced. While the reports have not yet been confirmed, fans believe that Gunn and Safran should be "ashamed" if the rumors are true. Many are expressing their disappointment and frustration with the potential loss of Cavill from the DC Universe.

Some recalled Dwayne Johnson 's recent excitement about Black Adam's future, and how people have already named him "the Robert Downey Jr of DCU " who would change the hierarchy of power in the cinematic universe and give it a fresh start.
Well, speaking of fresh starts...
Neither DC nor Cavill have commented the reports. Besides, the future of Black Adam sequel may also not be as grim as some fans already think: The Rock-led movie has already secured almost $400 million in global box office.

But it definitely seems that Henry Cavill's Superman will not be a central character in the future of the DC Universe after all. This is a departure from previous expectations, where fans thought that Cavill's Superman would play a larger role in upcoming DCU projects. It is unclear what this means for the future of the character, and whether Cavill will continue to portray Superman in future DCU productions.
