CinemaCon 2022 Guide: Official Schedule, Dates and Important Events
CinemaCon 2022, opening in Las Vegas this Monday, April 25, and running through Thursday, April 28, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
First held in 2011, CinemaCon has quickly become one of the most important events in the film industry, being the Official Convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO). This year the organizers promised that the CinemaCon 2022 will be the biggest convention to date – and judging by the number of planned studio screenings and presentations, this is indeed the case.
Here's the CinemaCon 2022 schedule with the list of the most important (and anticipated by movie fans) events and dates/time. Let's have a look at what to expect from these four days of movie extravaganza. The complete schedule of events is available on the official CinemaCon website.
Monday, April 25
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM Sony studio presentation
Sony Pictures execs are going to kick things off with a presentation highlighting the studios upcoming blockbusters. The use of cameras and other electronic devices capable of recording will be strictly prohibited – and you know exactly what it means: Sony is going to share the details of upcoming projects juicy enough to be considered major spoilers.
Tuesday, April 26
9:15 AM - 11:30 AM NEON studio presentation
NEON, the studio that gave us Spencer starring Kristen Stewart, is going to highlight its upcoming release schedule.
We can expect some new footage from Crimes of the Future (body horror film written and directed by David Cronenberg starring Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen and Lea Seydoux, with official premiere slated for May at Cannes Film Festival).
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Warner Bros. studio presentation
New teasers for both Black Adam and The Flash are practically confirmed at this point, but there's surely more to come. The studio is also rumored to present a new footage from Elvis ( premiering in May at Cannes Film Festival), and maybe, just maybe, there will be long-awaited The Batman sequel official announcement.
8:30 PM - 10:30 PM The Black Phone exclusive screening
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are going to treat CinemaCon guests to one of the most horrifying experiences in Ethan Hawke acting career.
Wednesday, April 27
9:45 AM - 11:30 AM Disney studio presentation
One of the main events on CinemaCon 2022 schedule for sure: expect long time coming Avatar 2 debut trailer, and some new details on Doctor Strange, Thor and Black Panther superhero movies.
4:15 PM - 6:30 PM Universal and Focus Features studio presentation
Universal is planning on showing some footage from its upcoming slate. Although at this point we still don't know what movies exactly are going to be included in the presentation, new footage from both Jurassic World Dominion and Minions: The Rise of Gru is expected.
Thursday, April 28
9:15 AM - 12:15 PM Paramount studio presentation and exclusive screening of Top Gun: Maverick
12:45 PM - 2:30 PM Top Gun: Maverick panel with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Joseph Kosinski and actor Glen Powell participating
2:45 PM - 4:30 PM Lionsgate studio presentation
We can expect more news on John Wick franchise (John Wick 4, Ballerina), maybe some footage from the fourth installment of the Keanu Reeves franchise, currently set to premiere in theaters on March 24, 2023.
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM Big Screen Achievement Awards
List of celebrities to expect at CinemaCon 2022
At CinemaCon 2022 we can expect not only studio presentations, but also another super important event – Big Screen Achievement Awards, which will be held at the tail end of CinemaCon on April 28. Special honors will be received by Robert De Niro, Billy Eichner, Abby Ryder Fortson, Glen Powell and Zoe Saldana. Robert De Niro will be honored with prestigious Cinema Vérité Award for his lifetime achievements and contribution to the film industry. Eichner will receive a Comedy Star of the Year award while Zoe Saldana will be honored as Star of the Year. Glenn Powell, who can be seen next in Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise, will receive a Star of Tomorrow award, and Abby Ryder Fortson – a Rising Star of 2022 trophy.
