4 Spinoffs of The Cult Shows We’re Glad Got Cancelled
These spin-offs only hurt the feelings of loyal fans and were deservedly forgotten.
After watching some series, one is left with a deep emotional trace and a desire to preserve the atmosphere of these masterpieces. To help eager fans, there are spin-offs of favorite TV shows.
Sometimes they’re not inferior in quality to the original, sometimes surpass it, and sometimes turn out so bad that it is hard to believe that it is one of the branches of the cult show.
Joey
After the end of Friends, a spin-off called Joey was announced. However, the show seems to have been doomed from the start. And it's not that Joey had fewer fans than Rachel or Monica.
The creators of the spin-off decided to simply capitalize on the Friends name without much effort to prepare a decent story for the character. The creators of Joey took advantage of the Friends ready-made strategy by recruiting a similar set of characters.
The problem is that audiences have already seen the best versions of these characters, and at the time of Joey's release, they still missed them.
Ravenswood
Ravenswood was a spin-off of the hit series Pretty Little Liars, which centered on the gritty town of Ravenswood, which has been under a curse for many generations. The town has been plagued by mysterious deaths. Five teenagers suddenly find themselves bound by this deadly curse, and they must uncover the terrible history of the town before everything goes too far for each of them.
The series failed to shock fans with mystical mysteries like the original show did and was cancelled after the first season.
The Finder
The 19th episode of the season 6 of Bones became the pilot for the new Fox project. Fans were introduced to the eccentric skeptic Walter Sherman. The former policeman is able to locate any person. Thanks to this talent he is a very sought-after detective who solves the most unthinkable cases.
Although Fox hoped to create a series in the same vein as CSI, Geoff Stults just lacked the charm of a leading man to keep things going.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
Almost along with season 3 of Once Upon a Time came a spin-off – Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. The original series was set in several worlds, and one of them was the world of L. Carroll’s Wonderland. The creators of the series decided to transfer a separate story to this world. With Alice in the title role, of course.
The spin-off didn't get a drop of the love that Once Upon a Time got and was canceled due to low ratings.
