But on rare occasions, even though a great movie made a huge impression on you and maybe even became one of your favorites, there's a reason you'll never see it again.
So here are five cinematic masterpieces you'll only see once.
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Created by Darren Aronofsky and starring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly, this movie has everything: a brilliant script, unforgettable performances from the entire cast and an absolutely magnificent soundtrack.
However, the story of characters slowly succumbing to their own addictions is incredibly depressing, heartbreaking and at times downright disturbing, making it hard to watch it all again.
Hereditary (2018)
Ari Aster definitely made a lasting impression on countless fans with his full-length directorial debut, delivering the story of a family slowly consumed by evil forces that begin to manifest themselves after a tragedy.
It is surreal, features some incredibly disturbing imagery, and is simply hard to watch.
Schindler's List (1993)
Starring Liam Neeson as Oskar Schindler, a real historical figure who saved 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust, this movie directed by Steven Spielberg may prove to be a little too emotional to watch again.
The fact that it is based on true events makes Schindler's List even more disturbing and heartbreaking.
Irréversible (2002)
The works of Gaspar Noé are certainly not to everyone's taste, and none of his movies shows this better than Irréversible.
Starring Monica Bellucci, Albert Dupontel and Vincent Cassel, it is an outrageous, disturbing and even nauseating story of two men on a quest to avenge the rape and brutal beating of a woman they love.
Even sitting through it for the first time is quite a challenge.
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Casey Affleck absolutely shines as Lee Chandler, a depressed man who has to return to his hometown to bury his brother, but has to stay there for quite some time.
This reopens some old wounds and reveals a heartbreaking and emotional story.
