3 Pairings in General Hospital That Make Fans Cringe
General Hospital has had many glittering couples over the years, some so good that they are now considered the benchmark for soap opera chemistry, such as Luke and Laura.
However, everyone has their misfires, and fans of the show remember the worst examples of relationships in GH. Often writers put characters together for perfectly logical reasons.
Although sometimes the logic does not work, and the chemistry between the "lovers" does not happen, and such pairings even makes the fans cringe.
This is a list of a few such examples.
Curtis and Portia
Another couple that the fans just can't stand to see is Curtis and Portia. Many agree that these characters are interesting on their own, but their pairing is just terrible.
Portia recently appeared on the show, and it turns out that she and Curtis have a history, namely that it is quite possible that Portia's daughter, Trina, is Curtis' daughter.
In spite of the fact that the characters share a rich past, the fans agree that this fact does not contribute to the chemistry between them.
"I'd also give an honorable mention to Curtis and Portia. Not only are they based on a lie, but they are also boring, obnoxious," Reddit user Fun_Air_7780 commented.
Chase and Brooklyn
Some couples go from being favorites to being hated by most fans. That's the case with Chase and Brooklyn. Fans agree that the couple and their interactions were fun to watch at first, but later their storyline turned into pointless drama.
Many believe that the couple has lost what made them special and that they are better off as friends than as a romantic couple.
"They started out strong and were a couple to root for. Then TIIC dragged it out and I lost interest. By the time they finally became a couple I no longer cared and to add insult to injury, their current storyline is atrocious. And boring," Reddit user Jazzlike_Adaptness_1 shared.
Despite some unfortunate storylines, General Hospital is still a highly beloved show. Viewers can tune in on the ABC channel.
Maxie and Austin
Maxie has had relationships with many characters on the show, but according to fans, Austin is the worst pairing not only in Maxie's history, but in the entire show.
The main complaint about this relationship is that there was absolutely no chemistry between the characters and no background that would clearly justify why these two characters came together.
As a result, the relationship seems more than strained. The fact that the characters ended up breaking up was the only thing that made fans happy about this storyline.
"Maxie and Austin were a total misstep. Zero chemistry and no storyline. I'm thrilled the writers broke them up," Reddit user Jazzlike_Adaptness_1 said.
