Zendaya’s Terrible Euphoria Idea Proves Season 3 is Dead on Arrival
As speculations about Euphoria Season 3 being canceled emerge, Zendaya’s ridiculous character story arcs ideas are revealed — and the implications are grim.
Summary:
- Euphoria Season 3 is reportedly postponed, and some stars believe it might never return.
- HBO vetoed several storyline suggestions for Zendaya ’s Rue, including her becoming a PI and a pregnancy surrogate.
- Some fans believe Euphoria should end now before it devolves and becomes a shadow of its past self.
Euphoria became a worldwide sensation immediately after its premiere. Following the most sinful and spoiled teenagers you’ve seen since Elite, the TV show became the new big thing — but after Season 2, it seemingly ran itself into a corner. Now, we can’t even be sure if Euphoria S3 will ever be made, as the latest updates suggested it was postponed and might even be canceled later down the line.
The newly-revealed proposed storylines for Season 3 almost support the latter point.
Euphoria S3 Could Have a Ridiculous Story
With the iconic TV show somewhat stuck in pre-production hell for now, it seems like the lack of a compelling story is one of the main issues.
According to Variety, HBO executives were frustrated with the options that had been suggested thus far, especially for Zendaya’s Rue, and looking at those ideas, we can’t blame them.
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson suggested that in Season 3, Rue would become — brace yourselves — a private investigator, of all things. HBO vetoed the idea immediately, and we can see why. Zendaya herself wanted Rue to sober up and become a pregnancy surrogate. This suggestion also didn’t pass the quality test.
So far, all proposed scripts have been vetoed — and while there reportedly are some good stories in store for Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, Zendaya has nothing.
Euphoria S3 Might Not Even Happen
But ridiculous storylines that don’t feel like they belong in Euphoria at all (gasp) aside, the TV show has other problems, too. Recently, we learned that Season 3 was postponed until an unknown date for a mildly worrying reason. Later, an anonymous Euphoria star shared that in their opinion, S3 could not happen at all.
It seems like there’s much more going on behind the scenes of Euphoria than just the inability to craft a compelling storyline for Zendaya’s Rue. As the show is hanging between life and death, we’ll keep our hand on the pulse — but things don’t look good… And some fans already suggest Euphoria ends now before it devolves into a shadow of its past self like countless shows before it.
