It may not come as a salvation for the whole franchise though.

Zack Snyder may have put his Rebel Moon franchise’s next ideas on the shelf for a while as he’s seemingly coming back to his 2006 movie 300 set to be turned into a series, but the director’s most recent failed movies are getting a big update which isn’t so likely to bring them stunning success.

Several months after their initial release on Netflix, Snyder’s epic movies Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire and Part Two: The Scargiver are being joined by the director’s cut that will land on the streaming platform in August.

According to Variety’s reports, the upcoming flicks will be “sexier, bloodier” versions of the original movies, with each of them lasting one hour more making it a total of 6 hours for two films. Snyder himself teased a lot of violence (sexual as well) and generally shocking moments that viewers should prepare to see in the updated versions, also adding that both of the films are “very R-rated.”

The flicks also received new titles set to arrive at Netflix as Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness.

Though Snyder’s revelations about the director’s cut may come as something compelling for some of Netflix’s audience, the new installments have low chances to make it up to the original movies that weren’t having the best time on the streaming platform ever since they landed there earlier.

Released back in 2023, Part One: A Child of Fire was soon proclaimed a total disappointment to this day holding scores of only 21% and 57% from critics and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

Part Two: The Scargiver didn’t make things better upon its arrival earlier this year and actually aggravated the whole situation for Snyder by getting even more miserable ratings of 15% and 48% and leaving Netflix’s top 10 chart within a week after the initial release.

Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness will be dropped on Netflix on August 2.
