Young Sheldon’s Funeral Had a Very Unexpected Guest, But You Never Noticed
Someone rose up from the dead.
Young Sheldon ’s final season that ended its run earlier in May turned out to be a whole emotional rollercoaster for both characters and viewers. Though The Big Bang Theory ’s long-standing fans have always seen it coming, the death of Sheldon’s father George in the 12th episode titled A New Home and a Traditional Texas Torture still surely shattered a couple of hearts.
The next episode dedicated entirely to George’s funeral wasn’t any easier, but some of the most shrewd viewers still made a notice of a very unexpected character, and though the whole scene wasn’t funny at all, the unusual guest gave everyone a really heartwarming moment.
Since the seventh season’s episode 12 hit the fans hard with George’s death after a fatal heart attack, Young Sheldon’s leading actor Iain Armitage has been constantly tortured with just one constant question about how it felt like for him to continue working on set without his family patriarch.
Turns out that things weren’t that simple as George’s actor Lance Barber was quick to get a cameo role, even after his character’s death. Initially it wasn’t confirmed by the show’s representatives, but some fans were attentive enough to notice someone very familiar in the back row at George’s funeral.
Though he now appeared as a lady in a dress and with an appropriate wig, it was pretty clear that the guest’s appearance was making an attempt to hide Barber as he opted for something else rather than being shown in a coffin.
Following fans’ raving reaction to Barber’s presence at his character’s funeral making it all look like he’s some kind of double spy, Young Sheldon’s spokesperson confirmed that the actor indeed had never left the shooting set even after George had made his last appearance on the show.
Still, however weird or even funny it would appear for many fans, it seems to be a really nice gesture from Lance Barber who found a way to pay homage to the character that he’s been portraying for years.
Apart from the fact that the series indeed gave all of its characters a relatively good ending (we don’t count George here), now it turns out that Young Sheldon’s actors were also eager to wrap it all up in some sweet way.
