While The Big Bang Theory’s universe keeps growing to its fans’ rejoice, the new series coming straight from Young Sheldon’s storyline may in fact ruin it all if the creators still ignore the preceding show’s biggest flaws.

Young Sheldon starring Iain Armitage as the smaller version of The Big Bang Theory’s eccentric physicist Sheldon Cooper was initially launched back in 2017 and was quickly grasped by the original show’s fans.

Though it's definitely a luring opportunity to dive deeper into the fan-favorite character’s earlier life and to see what exactly led him to being this extraordinary, some have been pointing to major inconsistencies throughout the prequel’s whole run.

How Has Young Sheldon Wronged The Big Bang Theory So Far?

One of the most striking examples here is Sheldon’s father who in The Big Bang Theory is invariably described as a goofy and lustful drunkard, but in Young Sheldon he appears to be a loving and careful father.

The original show also seemingly gives a big update to Sheldon’s grandmother Meemaw who suddenly changes her entire personality from being a rebellious unbored woman to turning into a calm, yet determined granny.

Young Sheldon’s upcoming spinoff about the main character’s brother Georgie and his wife Mandy simply can’t afford ignoring the previous installments’ tiny plot details like this, especially given that the original show also features Georgie in a very specific way.

Being a rare guest in Sheldon’s house, he nonetheless appears to be someone with multiple divorces under his belt which radically contradicts with the narrative of his happy marriage life with Mandy.

Though the upcoming show’s production hasn’t started yet, the title Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage may suggest that the creators finally drew the moral from their past mistakes and will focus on the characters’ complex storyline implying that they got back together after getting a divorce.
