Young Sheldon Spinoff New Promo Image Confirms Everyone’s Worst Fears
At some point, Mary Cooper’s constant presence wasn’t even a bad option.
Young Sheldon ’s spinoff about the titular character’s brother Georgie and his family life with wife Mandy and daughter CeeCee is hitting the screens pretty soon, but fans just can’t be more concerned about the future show’s controversial storyline after a recent update from the production set.
Taking a closer look at the young family’s life in Texas after George Sr.’s death and Sheldon’s departure for California, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will bring both of the characters’ family members back to the screen, yet some of those may be getting much bigger roles than they actually need.
Set around a month after Young Sheldon’s finale events, the spinoff will follow Georgie and Mandy during their first months as a married couple and navigate them through their own ups and downs while they still live in Mandy’s family house with her parents.
Young Sheldon’s official Instagram account has recently made it clear, posting a picture of Emily Osment, Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso posing together, and stating “We can’t wait to have the McAllisters back on our screen this fall!”
The post was quick to garner all kinds of reactions from the fans, with many of them claiming that there was no need for Mandy’s mother Audrey to come back as a regular.
It will be fair to say that no one really liked her in Young Sheldon, yet in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage she indeed has high chances to become one of the leads now that the young couple lives in her house.
Ever since Mandy’s family entered the scene in Young Sheldon’s season 6, fans got polarized over the new characters. While the McAllisters’ patriarch Jim was just fine with his daughter’s decisions in life and thus got enough of fans’ admiration to continue in the spinoff, Audrey was quick to get all the hatred from the viewers.
For quite a long time, Mandy’s mother was shown as a stubborn and oppressive figure that resented her daughter’s desire to be independent and never fully accepted Georgie as Mandy’s husband.
Though the character ultimately softened towards her daughter and son-in-law, fans are still concerned that there might be some kind of trap, especially since Audrey is now more than capable of meddling in Georgie and Mandy’s relationships at least for the time they stay in the McAllisters’ house.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will premiere on CBS on October 17.
