Young Sheldon Spinoff Has a Way Bigger Threat Than Audrey McAllister

Young Sheldon ’s spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, is already on its way to the screens with the beloved Cooper family returning as well, but Georgie’s relatives are very unlikely to cause as many issues as everyone initially thought.

The show’s creators recently made it clear that apart from Jim and Audrey McAllister, the future spinoff will also feature Mandy’s brother Connor, implying that the character may now return with a much bigger role than in Young Sheldon.

Though many may not fully realize it yet, Mandy’s seemingly quiet and almost invisible brother has all chances to come back as an even bigger problem for Georgie and Mandy than the latter’s mother — ironically, the issue has a lot to do with Audrey too.

Considering that by the time Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage picks the storyline up the newlyweds are still living in Mandy’s family house, it’s quite understandable why the creators came up with a decision to reintroduce Connor as yet another tenant of the McAllister house.

However, even Connor’s brief appearance in Young Sheldon season 6 directly pointed out his resemblance to Georgie’s younger brother in the worst way possible — just like Sheldon was Mary’s favorite, Connor is Audrey’s darling too.

Now that the character, portrayed by Joseph Apollonio, is confirmed to be back to the story, the chances of him causing more tension between Audrey and her daughter are getting pretty high. Additionally, the introduction of a new potential regular jeopardizes Mandy’s position while she still has to live with her parents and will possibly repeat Young Sheldon’s most disheartening storyline.

In the prequel, both Georgie and Missy repeatedly stated that Mary had always prioritized Sheldon’s well-being over theirs and thus could simply ignore her other kids while they desperately needed their mother’s support.

The same might take place in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage as well, with Connor rising to a much more important position in his family house and possibly forcing his parents, Audrey in particular, to neglect their daughter’s needs that wouldn’t matter that much while Audrey’s favorite child lives in the same house.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is set to drop its premiere episode on CBS on October 17.
