Fans can now sleep well at night knowing that she got happiness at least in her personal life.

Young Sheldon officially wrapped it all up with its definite ending several weeks ago, giving a bittersweet conclusion not only to its titular character who later on left his family house for college, but also to the original show’s characters who seem to be doing just fine years after The Big Bang Theory ’s finale.

The update on the original characters was given by Sheldon Cooper’s adult version in the final scene where Jim Parsons reprised his iconic role, but his comment about one of his friends’ appears to be quite ambiguous, though still positive in only one aspect.

In the finale of Young Sheldon, Jim Parsons’ Sheldon mentions Penny, his friend and Leonard’s wife, stating that he and his wife Amy shouldn’t have let Penny babysit their unnamed daughter who, having grown up, revealed her intention to take acting classes.

The prequel seemingly hinted that Penny had completely given up on her big dream of becoming a prominent actress in Hollywood, yet to this day kept her passion for acting which she managed to share with Sheldon’s daughter.

While the character’s professional ambitions eventually never became true, Penny seems to have found peace with another matter that tortured her in The Big Bang Theory’s last season.

By revealing that Penny spent a lot of time with his child, Sheldon might make it clear that his friend was just fine when it came to communicating with children. This is indeed a big update given that by the end of the original show Penny was reassured that she would never want to have kids, but her unexpected pregnancy in The Big Bang Theory season 12 thwarted her plans.

The series leaves her and Leonard’s story at the point where they decide to keep the child, meaning that Penny did change her mind. Sheldon’s mention of her babysitting another kid thus confirms that the character found her happiness as a mother, despite never making her biggest dream come true.
