Young Sheldon Continuity Errors Might Have a Simple Explanation After All

Young Sheldon was a lifesaver for those who weren't ready to say goodbye to The Big Bang Theory which ended after season 12.

Although fans had to bid farewell to almost all the characters, they were given the opportunity to follow the life and development of one of their favorites — Sheldon.

And while the spinoff has consistently received high ratings from viewers and critics, many people have noticed that the young version of Sheldon is so different from the version on TBBT that it is sometimes hard to believe that it is the same character.

However, some fans have come up with their own explanations for the inconsistencies between the young and grown up characters. Many people point out that Sheldon is an unreliable narrator, which the main character himself admitted.

The "unreliable narrator" move has been used in movies, literature, and video games.

This is a hero who leads the story but does not tell the whole truth. He may do it on purpose, tell rumors, embellish his exploits, or he may simply not know the whole picture.

This technique allows writers to make the story look more authentic.

The young Sheldon and the adult Sheldon may be the same person, but his (their?) view of the world and everything around him has naturally changed over time, so we can say that what the audience sees as plot holes are actually the result of the hero's subjective view (which is bound to change over time).
