He probably was just too good to let him go.

Following The Big Bang Theory ’s immense success, Young Sheldon went back to the past exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in his family house in Texas before he moved to California for better perspectives and met his best friend Leonard there.

With a significant time jump that the prequel makes, it was hardly possible to ever bring some of the original characters to Young Sheldon, yet the show proved the contrary by reuniting Sheldon’s younger and adult versions in the finale. However, the prequel also featured another major character that was seen in The Big Bang Theory, and this time it is indeed very hard to believe.

For those who were left heartbroken after Young Sheldon’s ending and opted for rewatching the original show to fill the void, one actor in a cameo role may appear to be pretty much familiar. Season 5 episode 11 introduces Jimmy Speckerman, a bully who was constantly nagging at Leonard when he was younger.

In the short scene, Young Sheldon fans will immediately recognize Lance Barber, the actor that portrayed Sheldon’s father George in the prequel show.

Though it’s still a mystery how such a crossover even became possible, Barber probably just nailed his brief appearance in the original series to the point of later on securing one of the leading roles in Young Sheldon.

Additionally, this is some kind of quirky Easter egg for those who are still not over George’s tragic fate in the prequel’s last season.

George Cooper’s role became a whole breakthrough for Barber’s television career, yet before that he repeatedly showed up in cameo roles on numerous iconic shows. Before The Big Bang Theore’s prequel came his way, the actor made short appearances on TV series like Gilmore Girls, Joey, Californication, Gray’s Anatomy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and many others.
