Yellowstone's Cole Hauser Has a Lot to Say About 'Rip's Gonna Die' Theory
Yellowstone fans have made it clear they do not want Rip Wheeler to die. Every season, as fans gear up for more drama on the Dutton ranch, predictions are made as to which characters may or may not survive the show.
Thus, in preparation for the debut of season five (November 13), forecasts are being made regarding the future of John, Kayce, Bethany, Jamie, and Rip. In fact, Rip appears as frequently as anyone in the Dutton bloodline indicating he is one of the most popular characters on Yellowstone .
Therefore, the point has been made loud and clear by the Yellowstone faithful that they are not ready to watch Rip get killed. Unfortunately, many predict that Rip is one of the more likely of the main cast members to get axed from the show.
Why? Rip is not Dutton royalty even if he made it official with Beth at the end of season four. Therefore, many Yellowstone fans believe that makes Rip vulnerable as well as destined for a sad ending.
Is Rip Wheeler really expendable?
The discussion has ignited plenty of debates online. In fact, the actor behind the character – Cole Hauser – recently admitted that he's aware of all the online gossip. He dished on TODAY regarding the fate of Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone.
Yellowstone is a Misguided Lesson About What It Means to be a Strong Woman
Hauser revealed to Carson Daly and Savannah Guthrie that he's heard all the theories, including the ones that claim Rip is gonna die. The source? His mother, who frequents the online threads for the latest Yellowstone gossip.
The amount of speculation regarding the character's fate even concerned his mother, according to Hauser. Nevertheless, the 47-year-old actor was quick to dismiss such rumors, even joking: "Mom, I do the killing. Don't worry about it."
As audiences are aware, Rip has done his fair share of dirty work for John and Beth. He's a loyal, dependable ranch hand and guardian of the family estate. Now, with season five underway – Rip appears responsible for the bulk of vengeance. For example, it's been speculated that Beth's brother, Jamie, may be a target once Rip learns about the previous sterilization. It's one of the darker secrets of the family and something that Rip has not been made aware of prior to exchanging vows with Beth.
The Best Yellowstone Character Is Also Its Worst Human Being
Additionally, the co-creator of Yellowstone – Taylor Sheridan – is not exactly known for delivering a happy ending. Be that as it may, there is zero indication that Rip will not be a part of the final season of Yellowstone. After all, he and the rest of the cast and crew have already completed shooting for season five. Thus, it's safe to assume Rip will make it to at least season six. Jamie, on the other hand, we're not so sure.
Of course, no one on the cast knows for sure their destiny. Yet it doesn't appear that Cole would lie, especially to his own mother of all people. Therefore, we can take Cole's confidence as a promising indication the beloved character is not going anywhere. Isn't it safe to assume "[Rip] does the killing" is a hint that Rip will survive season five?
