Will the Starks Appear in House of the Dragon?
Game of Thrones had a huge cast of characters, which it juggled with varying degrees of skill, but undoubtedly if you wanted to choose a protagonist group among them that would be Starks, the rulers of Winterfell in the North, and one of the most powerful Houses in Westeros.
Their family provided no less than six point-of-view characters (counting Jon Snow) in the books and was one half of the titular Song of Ice and Fire, with corresponding screentime and plot importance in the TV series.
House of the Dragon is a prequel to Game of Thrones, which can illuminate the backstory of many Game of Thrones' characters and their families. And as House Stark was in existence for thousands of years, it played its part in Westeros politics during House of the Dragon's timeframe.
So far, however, the Starks have been notably absent from the screen, and their whole House only got a few quick mentions.
Here's Why Neither Daemon Nor Aemond Can Be The Night King
But worry not. It has been confirmed that the Starks will be in House of the Dragon, and that they will be making their entrance in the second season of the series.
And if you've read George Martin 's histories of Westeros, on which House of the Dragon is based, you already know that Cregan Stark, the head of House Stark at the time in which House of the Dragon takes place, will play a major role in the conflict. So, we can expect to see him and important members of his family, as well as parts of Westeros previously absent from House of the Dragon, once Season 2 is released.
Not unexpectedly, House Stark will join forces with Princess Rhaenyra and the Blacks, although until nearly the end of the war their impact will be rather limited, though they still are going to shake things up and create extra problems for Alicent and the Greens.
Just don't expect them to occupy the same protagonist role they had in Game of Thrones – House of the Dragon is ultimately a family drama, concerning the two branches of the Targaryen dynasty, and other noble families of Westeros will play only supporting roles in it.
That's about all the information on Starks in House of the Dragon that we currently have. It is not yet known who's going to be cast as Cregan Stark or any other Starks.
