Though James Gunn's recent adaptation of Flash is not everyone's cup of tea, The CW saves the day with 9 seasons of Barry Allen that seems to capture everyone's hearts. The question is: Is there any chance that we will see Grant Gustin in his running shoes again?

Is Grant Gustin the Flash in James Gunn’s DCU?

Speaking to fans at one of the signing sessions, Gustin appeared to be very receptive to the idea of putting on the red suit again.

However, there is one important condition to the whole ordeal: James Gunn, the new DCU head, must be involved.

“Yeah, if James Gunn asked me to play The Flash, I would do it again. I trust James Gunn,” the actor said.

All Barry Allen fans were outraged to learn that Grant Gustin, best known to audiences for his brilliant performance as The Flash in the CW series of the same name, would not be making a cameo appearance in the 2023 movie starring Ezra Miller.

While many still found the movie to be decent, it didn't live up to expectations and got the rebooted DCU off to a shaky start.

However, since Grant Gustin has nothing but respect and trust for James Gunn, it's not too late for the cameo to happen. After all, one of the best things about all superhero movies is the legacy that all the previous versions leave behind. The CW's version deserves just as much recognition, considering how much it meant to so many viewers.

It might be hard to get a hold of Gustin right now, though, as he's very busy with his Broadway run of Water for Elephants as Jacob. The play just opened on February 24, and it's a great opportunity for the actor to take his vocal talents a little further than musical episodes.
