Why GoT Season 3 Was the Most Important Season of Them All, According to Maisie Williams
Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, became a rare case of a kid actor, who managed to retain and improve her appeal, after the passage of in-world years and the show's seasons turned her from a kid to a teen.
Her performance was generally praised, and she enjoyed a productive career as an actress after Game of Thrones ended, appearing in a number of movies and TV series, as well as in some commercial promotions.
Certainly, Game of Thrones has changed Maisie's life. And while different people have different opinions regarding which season of Game of Thrones was most important to the show, to Maisie that definitely is the season at which she realized that Game of Thrones had, in fact, changed her life.
"At the season 3 premiere, we went to the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, and stepping out of the car, with hundreds of people screaming my name, is when I realized that this show completely changed my life," Maisie recalled, upon being asked when she realized that Game of Thrones was becoming a huge dead in a Reddit AMA.
"It was very, very daunting – I found it quite scary – but it happened gradually, so I had time to get used to it."
There is no doubt that appearing on Game of Thrones ended up offering major career opportunities for everyone who played important characters.
And Arya Stark was a pretty important character, surviving through all eight season of the series and even saving the world at one point!
But not every actor managed to capitalize on these opportunities. And again, when she first appeared on the show, Maisie Williams was only a kid. There is no doubt that she has both talent and determination.
And maybe the final episode of Season 8 was not her final appearance in the world of Westeros.
If the rumored spin-off series centered around Jon Snow is going to be greenlighted by HBO, it is quite probable that Arya is going to re-united with her stepbrother for more adventures in the frozen North, and Maisie is going to reprise her most famous role.
While Arya left the continent in the finale, a reason for her to return is not difficult to contrive.
