Who Would Win in a Fight: Jon Snow or The Hound? The Ultimate GoT Fighter Rankings
If there is one topic to spark fierce discussion among Game of Thrones fans, it is asking their opinion on who is "the best" at anything.
But ask them who the best fighter is, and you'd better brace for some very passionate views! Fans have chosen their ultimate Top Ten which are listed here.
For brevity, only people that appeared in the Game of Thrones television series qualify for this list.
10. King Robert Baratheon
He may have been out of shape when we met him in the first season, but make no mistake, Robert Baratheon was a fierce warrior.
9. Ser Jorah Mormont
Ser Jorah is a man who is utterly formidable at fighting. Despite his advancing age, he is quick, sharp, and skilled at thinking tactically with startling speed.
8. Jon Snow
Barely a man when he joined the Night's Watch, Jon Snow was outperforming almost everyone else with a sword from the start. Necessity and determination saw his skills then grow exponentially.
7. Oberyn Martell – The Red Viper
Everyone was impressed with Oberyn's technique, grace, and speed when he faced The Mountain as Tyrion Lannister's champion. If not for his fatal mistake of needing to pursue justice for his murdered sister, he would have won the battle.
6. Ser Brienne of Tarth
Brienne is noble, honourable, and insanely fierce with a sword. But perhaps her greatest strength lies in her patience and resolve. She is never reckless and that makes her incredible.
5. Sandor Clegane – The Hound
The series lover of the "c-word" is far more than just the grumpy, scarred, younger brother of The Mountain. Sure, he is absolutely all those things. But he is also a savage swordsman, strong and skilled.
4. Ser Gregor Clegane – The Mountain
Ser Gregor may be loathed, but there is no denying he is one of the most awesome fighters in the series. And his impressive strength and brutality only grew when he was made into an experimental zombie-like monster.
3. Ser Barristan Selmy
Ser Barristan holds an impressive career within the Kingsguard and has been long-renowned as an honourable and impressive fighter. Even in his old age, he still held his own against far younger men in battle.
2. Arya Stark
Arya Stark may be young, but she has amassed more knowledge of fighting than most seasoned veterans. She is fast and intelligent, and her razor-sharp instincts serve her well in any fight. And she killed the Night King, literally saving the entire world.
1. Ser Jaime Lannister – The Kingslayer
When it comes to fighters, nobody can surpass Ser Jaime. Even the loss of his sword hand did not impede his ability for long, and he was besting everyone he faced in no time.
