Which The CW Shows Were Cancelled, And Which Got Renewed?
A bunch of series didn't make it, but the big hits, along with something completely new, will soon hit our screens.
The CW has thinned its projects line-up for the upcoming season, having cancelled shows like 'Naomi', 'Charmed ', 'Dynasty', 'In the Dark', 'The 4400', 'Batwoman', 'Legends of Tomorrow', and 'Roswell, New Mexico'.
'Naomi' and 'The 4400' bid adieu after just one season, while 'Charmed' is done after four. 'Batwoman' has only received three seasons, while 'Legends of Tomorrow' is left out of the renewals after seven seasons.
However, a number of promising projects have been greenlit by the network. Among them is the long-anticipated 'Supernatural ' prequel, 'The Winchesters ', along with 'Walker: Independence' and 'Gotham Knights '. In a fun and ironic way, all three projects are somehow connected through the SPN family; aside from 'The Winchesters', it's Jared Padalecki who stars in 'Walker: Independence', and 'Gotham Nights' signed up Misha Collins, who played Castiel in 'Supernatural'.
So the SPN alumni will enjoy each other's company on The CW schedule.
The CW could be on the brink of sale to station group Nexstar. In wake of the possible sale, this year's round of cancellations marks the network's biggest one ever.
