Supernatural was the show that never seemed to end. But in 2020, the long-awaited final episode was released. Over the course of fifteen seasons, the show managed to change several genres and offer a whole galaxy of very different storylines.
Supernatural has managed to go from complex emotional drama to hilarious irony over the years, never boring its viewers.
One of the key ingredients that was part of both the drama and the comedy relief was, of course, Crowley. The character, brilliantly played by Mark Sheppard in seasons from 5 to 12, began the series as a humble crossroad demon, but thanks to intelligence, cunning and ruthlessness, he quickly reached the top of the demonic hierarchy and took the throne as the King of Hell.
Mark Sheppard Started His Fantasy Journey Long Before Supernatural
Mark Sheppard began his journey in fantasy and science fiction series in the 90s. In 1993, the actor appeared in the episode Fire of the cult The X-Files with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
In the early 2000s, the number of TV series in which Mark Sheppard took part quickly expanded, and the actor mostly played the roles of villains. Sheppard starred in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Charmed, NCIS and Firefly, as well as Battlestar Galactica.
However, the biggest success in Mark Sheppard's career can be considered an invitation to Supernatural.
After Supernatural, The Actor Hasn't Starred in Many Projects
After leaving the cult series, Mark could be seen on the small screen again in 2019 – he starred in the comic series Doom Patrol in the role of Willoughby Kipling.
Then the actor took part in a project produced by his co-star from Supernatural, Jared Padalecki – Walker: Independence. In the western series, Sheppard played Hagan, a saloon owner.
One Year Ago, Mark Sheppard Suffered Heart Attacks
In 2023, Mark shocked fans with horrible news – the actor suffered six heart attacks after collapsing in his kitchen. According to Sheppard, he woke up in intensive care, where he learned that he had come back from the dead four times and that his chances of survival were almost zero.
In the last year, the actor has not taken part in any projects, apparently devoting time to his health and family. The actor's fans understand the situation and wish Mark good health, even if it means that he will no longer appear on screen.
