The Disney+ series has just ended, but some fans still don't know where 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' takes place in the overall 'Star Wars' timeline.

The limited series, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi tries to protect Princess Leia and young Luke Skywalker from Darth Vader, drew millions of viewers over the course of 6 episodes, and many fans were excited to finally see some of the gaps of the original prequel trilogy filled. As many famous characters reappeared in live action, viewers wondered when this story arc is set, and the answer was far less complicated than many fans expected.

'Obi-Wan Kenobi' is set 10 years after 'Revenge of the Sith' and 22 years after 'The Phantom Menace', which makes the series a much-needed explanation of what happened before the events of those iconic films.

The very first space opera film, 'A New Hope', takes place nine years before the events of Ewan McGregor-led show, when Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, had just turned 19.

Besides Kenobi, Owen Lars and Darth Vader, all present in the Disney+ project, other iconic 'Star Wars ' characters who did not appear in the series might actually well have done so. In 10 BBY when 'Kenobi' takes place, Ahsoka Tano, Yoda, Han Solo and Bo-Katan Kryze were alive in a galaxy far, far away.

Considering that almost all of the 'Star Wars' movies and series have been set in such a short period of time, it's not surprising that fans are already getting pretty tired, hoping to see some new time periods explored in upcoming series like 'The Acolyte '.

"Agreed, a fresh aesthetic is desperately needed. There are so many creative things you can do in the Star Wars universe that haven't been done yet. Hoping this show can start to open that up." – /fleetintelligence.
