After portraying the most amazing young Rhaenyra we could’ve had, what did the actress move on to?

The younger actors on House of the Dragon weren’t even remotely the same age in real life as they were on the screen, but they did a spectacular job, nonetheless. In Season 1, Milly Alcock played young Rhaenyra Targaryen, and she absolutely delivered on her performance. But after Emma D’Arcy took over the part, Alcock was no longer needed on the project. What did she move on to after HotD?

Milly Alcock Was Perfectly Cast in HotD

House of the Dragon was Milly Alcock’s 10th named role in a TV show, and by far the most memorable one. For the seven episodes she was part of, she managed to show the complex and changing character of Rhaenyra and become so associated with her that we don’t know about you but we were genuinely confused when the actress left and Emma D’Arcy took her place.

As a whole, Alcock was perfectly cast both in terms of fitting the character and in terms of later transitioning to D’Arcy. It’s unfortunate she had to leave, but the time on House of the Dragon served the actress right anyway: thanks to such a prominent addition to her portfolio, she quickly booked another great gig that’s coming soon.

Milly Alcock Booked Another Major Role

The actress hasn’t starred anywhere since leaving House of the Dragon just yet, but she has some big things coming right up. First of all, she’ll portray Simone DeWitt in the upcoming miniseries Sirens about a girl who has an “unhealthy” relationship with her boss and her worried brother; we presume, Simone is the lead part in the show.

Bigger yet, Milly Alcock became the new Supergirl, taking after Sasha Calle. She’s set to star in James Gunn ’s Superman ( already in production) and then have a standalone movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is currently in pre-production. That’s quite a jump, becoming one of the new DCU ’s lead stars!

So if you’ve been missing Milly Alcock after her exit from House of the Dragon, fear not: her notable absence on the scene won’t last for long. Then, you’ll see her all over big and small screens; especially, if you’re a DC fan.
