Curly Sue sequel, but make it musical.

Alisan Leigh Porter's name may not ring a bell, but you will recognize her face and crazy curls from her role in the iconic 90's family film Curly Sue.

Porter starred opposite James Belushi and captured the hearts of audiences with her chubby cheeks and wisecracking smile.

But with her face out of the spotlight, many wonder what happened to her and where she is today.

Alisan Porter appeared in a few other projects prior to the success of Curly Sue, including the short-lived ABC sitcom Chicken Soup in 1989.

Unfortunately, after her film debut, no more projects followed, so Porter had to express her acting passion through the drama club in school.

She was just as good at singing as she was at acting, so she decided to pursue a career in musicals. At 18, Porter moved to New York and landed her first Broadway role in a production of Footloose.

After another move, this time to Los Angeles, she appeared in more musical shows, including The Ten Commandments: The Musical at the Kodak Theatre.

After sharing the stage with so many great actors and performers, she decided to pursue a career in music and even released her debut solo album, Alisan Porter, in 2009.

However, the real breakthrough came in 2016 when Alisan became a contestant on The Voice and joined Christina Aguilera's team.

This decision turned out to be amazing for both of them, as under Christina's coaching, Alisan Porter became a winner of The Voice, and Christina Aguilera became the first female coach to bring a contestant to the top.

Today, Alisan Porter continues her career not only as a singer and vocal coach, but also as a mother of three. Although the actress admitted to battling some addictions in the past, she seems to be as happy with her life today as one can be.

Keep an eye out for Porter's other projects that may be in the works.
