Wes Bentley, one of the stars of Yellowstone, has a message for fans – relax.

The actor recently had much to say during an interview at SCAD TVFest as the show prepares to return this summer.

Yellowstone is currently in the middle of season five and left many viewers wondering what will happen next to the Dutton family.

However, all the excitement and anticipation regarding the season five return were diminished earlier this month when it was reported that Kevin Costner might soon leave Yellowstone.

For now, Bentley assures audiences that it's nothing more than rumors. The actor admits that he is too consumed with the direction of his character that he hasn't had time to buy into the gossip.

While he is aware that there may be contract disputes between Costner and Paramount, Bentley is also not rushing to conclusions.

Bentley clarified that the dispute is beyond his "pay grade" but that he is confident the network will find a way to work it out with its lead star.

Thus, the actor confirmed that Paramount remains in discussions with Costner with the hope that something can get resolved. The conflict is reportedly over how many days Costner is willing to commit to shooting Yellowstone.

Bentley acknowledges that these types of issues tend to arise during negotiations, yet he is "confident" it will all work out for the best. "We always have [resolved it] before," he insisted.

True, Yellowstone is no stranger to drama. The fifth season has continued the feud between siblings Jamie and Beth Dutton. Now, amid the mid-season finale, there are serious concerns regarding both their welfare.

Beth is seeking vengeance on Jamie and vice versa. Jamie seeks to impeach his father from the office of Montana Governor while allowing his new lover, Sarah Atwood, to orchestrate a hit on Beth.

Accordingly, Bentley hopes that Yellowstone will not rush for a premature exit just because the network is currently clashing with its main star.

Paramount has responded to the rumors by stating there is "no news to report." For this reason, most do not believe that this is an indication that Yellowstone is over. More, they've hit a temporary roadblock.

In the end, Bentley cannot wait to see where Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan takes the show next. The showrunner is infamously discreet and mysterious when it comes to revealing future episodes or ideas.

Thus, Bentley like the rest of the fans of Yellowstone remains in the dark. Still, he anticipates something "major" to conclude season five.

"Taylor surprises [the cast] so much," Bentley concluded. "I'm so interested… so invested… we do our own fanfiction."
