Wednesday season 2 announcement got you all hyped up? Well, maybe not so fast.

It was a question of time for Netflix to greenlight Wednesday, its recent biggest hit, for a second season. Now that it's official and Jenna Ortega will return as the gothic icon once again, fans have their hopes up for the platform to pay attention to the feedback and maybe even make the show's popular pairing a thing.

Yes, despite the two male love interests, a huge part of the fandom roots for Wednesday and her werewolf roommate Enid to end up together. Recent reports, particularly the one by ScreenRant, have indicated that the writers are on track to make Wednesday-Enid relationship "a focal point" in the upcoming season — a hint many fans deemed to be foreshadowing some Wenclair content.

Not so fast, says Twitter user thinkingofjenna, voicing concerns that this "focal point" might as well end up as a big reveal nobody asked for: Enid being Wednesday's stalker.

Imagine the despair Wenclair shippers are going to experience should Wednesday writers make Enid the person who threatened her roommate and stalked her on social media. After all, we do know that Enid is very good when it comes to social media research; she is the eyes and ears of Nevermore Academy. What if these eyes and ears have Wednesday in the crosshairs?

"Enid is literally a baby, she could never be the stalker, BUT we could get some angst [though]," Twitter user mittsy_daisy said.

Others immediately argued that this would make it a "great plot twist," while certain people seem to already be thirsty for the "friends to enemies to lovers" trope.

Still, there have been no official comments as to Wednesday season 2 plotline, so it might be too soon to either canonize Wenclair or bury the ship altogether.
