Wednesday’s Latest Casting Update Is Jenna Ortega’s Perfect Vibe Match
The newcomer will take over a dead character’s position.
Summary:
- The production of Wednesday ’s upcoming second season is about to start soon and another actor has just joined the show’s cast for an exciting role which hasn’t been confirmed officially yet.
- According to the reports, the newcomer will revive the position of another character that left the series in the first season.
- The reprised role is expected to be quite different from the one in season 1, so fans may expect more dynamic plot twists.
Personnel changes are about to happen at Nevermore Academy — after its previous principal, portrayed by Gwendoline Christie, was poisoned back in the first season, the show is bringing another actor on set.
According to Variety’s reports, Steve Buscemi has just been cast for yet an unknown role, but the stakes are high for him to become the sinister academy’s new head — and he may come as a good antagonist for Jenna Ortega ’s Wednesday.
As now no plot details of the upcoming second season have been revealed, it’s hard to determine whether Buscemi’s character will establish good relationships with the main character or will rather ruin everything that Christie’s Principal Weems was trying to build all along.
The second option here seems to be much more plausible — mostly because Weems was very much about fashion and good vibes that she was trying vainly to find in Wednesday and become her true friend.
Thus it comes as something logical that Steve Buscemi’s principal (if the actor ends up being one) won’t share anything of this and will most likely turn out to be someone radically different.
Based on this thought, it’s fair to surmise that the new principal will appear to be Weems’ exact antithesis with perhaps outdated views and some kind of hostility towards Wednesday which the latter will be quick to reciprocate.
If such an assumption will at least partially be seen through the upcoming season’s plot, the fans will be lucky to get some more of an eccentric dynamic between two similar, yet very different characters whose gloomy mindset will most likely drift them apart rather than bring them closer together.
Wednesday’s season 2 has been confirmed for a while now as the show’s production has been severely affected by Hollywood strikes back in 2023. The next season is set to start filming in late April in Ireland.
