Wednesday and Enid's Friendship Will Take Center Stage in Season 2
The only thing stronger than Wednesday and Enid's friendship? Wednesday's Netflix ratings.
Alfred Gough, the writer for the Wednesday series, has shared some exciting news about a potential second season of the Netflix show. He has stated that the upcoming episodes will focus on the relationship between Wednesday Addams and her best friend, Enid Sinclair.
As fans of the show will remember, in the first season, Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega ) was sent to attend the Nevermore Academy for Outcasts by her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Louis Guzman). She ended up sharing a dorm room with Enid (Emma Meyers), a sweet and cheerful werewolf girl, who initially annoyed Wednesday with her upbeat personality. However, by the end of the season, the two became friends and even embraced, despite Wednesday's reluctance to hug.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gough expressed his desire to continue exploring the friendship between Wednesday and Enid in the upcoming season. He stated that there will be many scenes featuring the two girls together, and hinted that they may even solve another mystery together.
The showrunners want to explore and complicate all the relationships in the future. School was closed, which gave the writers a lot of opportunity for season two. For them, this show is very much about female friendship, and Wednesday and Enid are in the spotlight. So it's great to see that viewers are really enjoying their story.
In addition to Wednesday and Enid's friendship, Gough also mentioned that season 2 will delve deeper into Wednesday's relationship with her mother, Morticia. In the first season, the two developed a strong bond, and it seems that we can expect even more heartwarming moments between them in the upcoming season. Gough hinted at the possibility of more scenes featuring Wednesday and Morticia together, and fans can surely look forward to more touching moments between the mother and daughter.
Unfortunately, Netflix has not yet announced any plans to renew the Wednesday series for a second season, and it is not expected to return until 2023. However, the creators are actively discussing ideas for the plot and continuing to develop the show. While we will have to wait a bit longer for a second season, it is clear that the team behind Wednesday is dedicated to delivering a high-quality and engaging story for its fans.
