'Umbrella Academy' Just Made a Major Change In Season 3
It looks like Netflix's big superhero series is ready to stray away from the original comics: new character posters show that big changes are coming in the upcoming third season.
The series, based on the best-selling comic books 'Umbrella Academy' by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba, is widely known for sticking to the original, adapting precisely one storyline per season. Season 3 will center on the Oblivion Hotel, a luxurious dwelling designed to contain and torture some of the most dangerous villains the team has ever encountered. But recent character posters have revealed that the show's creators have decided to change the name of the future main location.
The hotel is now known as Hotel Obsidian, and the name change is strange indeed. There are several theories about this, one of which is especially likable – the name Obsidian was created to mislead ordinary people in the series universe as to the true purpose of the hotel, which, of course, is to imprison supervillains. Perhaps the third season will feature innocent tourists who accidentally get caught up in the incoming mess.
Some fans are already coming up with theories to explain the Obsidian title, trying to uncover what Netflix has in store for them in the upcoming season.
Others are just joking about the whole story, imagining how the hotel would look like.
'Umbrella Academy' season 3 will arrive on Netflix on June 22, 2022.
