Two Toms And a Half Of MCU Cast: Highest Grossing Actors Of All Time, Ranked
Other franchises need to seriously step up their box office game.
As someone who is highly invested in the entertainment industry, you probably know a lot about the wealthiest actors with the highest payments for the movies they've done.
While the focus on the celebrities' net worth is totally understandable, it is also interesting to see how money can measure their real success among other actors.
How many movies have they made to build up a net worth they have? How many of those movies were successful? Were there any to cross that sweet mark of $1B at the box office?
Check out this rank of the 7 highest-grossing leading actors in the US of all time by cumulative domestic box office revenue.
7. Chris Pratt ($ 4.33B)
The star of two particularly popular franchises Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World hit a jackpot, appearing in several other MCU films like Avengers and Thor.
6. Zoe Saldana ($4.64B)
Chris Pratt's Guardians of the Galaxy took it one step further and ended up 6th thanks to Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water.
These two films managed to get $785M and $683M at the domestic box office respectively.
5. Tom Cruise ($4.7B)
We all remember the success Top Gun: Maverick had in the theaters, so it's no wonder it grossed $718M at the domestic box office alone.
Throw all the Mission Impossible parts into the mix, and you'll end up with a key to Tom Cruise's success.
4. Tom Hanks ($5.12B)
You might be surprised to see Tom Hanks this high on the rating but don't be fooled. Disney 's animated movies are just as successful as the superheroes.
Only the beloved Toy Story 4 alone gathered $434M at the domestic box office.
3. Scarlett Johansson ($ 5.29B)
However, Marvel stars are not easy to overthrow when it comes to money.
Despite Natasha Romanoff's solo film "failing" in theaters and becoming one of the lowest-grossed MCU films, the actress' overall score is still saved by her appearances in the Avengers franchise and her work outside of Marvel.
2. Robert Downey Jr ($ 5.47B)
You'd be surprised to see him not taking first place. It is no secret that Rober Downey Jr, portraying Iron Man, was a staple for any MCU movie for many years, that's why it's not surprising to see the domestic box office summed up to such high value.
1. Samuel L Jackson ($ 5.72B)
One thing that Samuel L Jackson did have in his career, that Robert Downey Jr did not, is the part in the Incredibles animated franchise.
$261M for the first movie and flying $608M for the second one were just enough to push RDJ to the side and sit at the top of the rating.
