TWD: Dead City E2 Easter Eggs You Missed (From Neat to Unexpected)
Home Alone reference in TWD is something you definitely don’t want to miss.
The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 2 aired on Sunday. If you’ve already watched it, it is high time to check out some details of the episode you might have missed.
Spoiler alert for Dead City episode 2.
When Maggie and Negan finally catch up with a woman who stole their backpacks, Esther, Negan calls her “Pigeon Lady” which is the name of a character from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).
The Burazi
In the episode, we are introduced to the Croat’s group, the Burazi. Burazi means “brothers.” Negan also tells Maggie that Croat was calling him Buraz (brother). This might be a potential clue at the hierarchy in the Croat’s group that suggests that everyone is a brother and is equal (well, except for the Croat).
Improvised weapons
In the episode, we see that the Burazi and the group of survivors that Negan and Maggie run into don't have any guns. Instead, they've come up with some improvised weapons.
And there's a reason behind it: one of the survivors mentions that once you set foot on the island, you're stuck there. So, it's not like they can just go off to find some weapons elsewhere. And on top of that, it's been a good 15 years since the apocalypse started, so guns are pretty hard to come by these days.
New Hilltop
We catch a glimpse of the newly established Hilltop, where Ginny, the girl who Negan looked after, arrives. In the previous episode, Maggie tells that Hilltop was relocated after the Whisperers burnt it down.
It is still unknown where Hilltop is currently located, but in the scene when we are introduced to the place, you can't help but notice some shipping containers that look a lot like the ones we saw back in season 5 at Terminus. Maybe Maggie clued in the group about this place, and they decided to rebuild it.
Water tower
Ginny looks at the water tower in Hilltop twice in the episode — when she arrives and when she intends to leave. It is empathized for some reason. Whether a water tower had something to do with her parents’ death / reminds her of the farm she lived on, or it will play some role in the upcoming episodes.
