Tracker Leaves NCIS Behind on the Most-Watched Shows List
CBS’ newcomer is getting stronger as it has just beaten the network’s most successful vet.
The odds are in Tracker ’s favor, as the show has just triumphantly ended the 2023-2024 TV season garnering an impressive amount of viewers and surpassing even CBS’ long-standing giant NCIS.
Apart from NCIS, Tracker is followed by CBS’ other successful projects, and though many of them came quite close to the number one position, the Justin Hartley- led action drama show is still on top. Fair to say it does seem like a good sign for the upcoming second season.
According to Variety’s reports, in CBS’ race for the fans’ love Tracker got more than 10 million viewers, while NCIS ended up with a bit less than 10 million, followed by other CBS darlings like Young Sheldon ( 9,101 viewers), Blue Bloods ( 8,449 viewers), NCIS: Hawai’i (7,788 viewers) and Elsbeth ( 7,454 viewers).
With all the raving success that Tracker suddenly got under its belt, CBS stated that the show had demonstrated the best result ever since Desperate Housewives had hit the network in the 2004-05 TV season. With only seven episodes released back in March, Tracker drew the attention of around 19 million multiplatform viewers.
What Is Tracker About?
Starring Justin Hartley in the leading role, Tracker follows private investigator Colter Shaw who embarks on cross-country trips to help citizens unveil the mysteries they’re concerned about for a money reward.
Over the course of the plot, the show makes it clear that even loaded with work, Colter cannot escape his past and the dark family secrets that he will have to find the truth about sooner or later.
The end of the first season left fans with a big cliffhanger that will undoubtedly face Colter’s biggest family drama in the upcoming second season.
Tracker season 2 will premiere this fall on CBS.
