Have some fun with bone-chilling films you probably have never heard of.

The end of the 20th century saw the release of many memorable horrors that have since gone on to become true classics. How about The Blair Witch Project or The Scream? But we've decided to make a list of some of the more outlandish movies worth mentioning.

1. Event Horizon

Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, this sci-fi horror film takes the audience on a terrifying journey through space.

The story is set in 2047, when a rescue team is sent to the edge of the solar system to find out what happened to the crew of the first spaceship built for FTL travel, which disappeared without a trace.

With its atmospheric setting and intense visuals, Event Horizon delivers a chilling blend of science fiction and terror that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

2. Cronos

A Mexican horror film directed by Guillermo del Toro. While del Toro is now a household name, his earlier works often go unnoticed.

The movie tells the story of Cronos, a small device invented by alchemist Umberto Falconelli in 1536. The device granted immortality, but since Cronos promised eternal life to anyone who fed it with their own blood, the scientist's life was cut short by a tragic accident in 1937.

The mansion where the alchemist lived was auctioned off and sold. One day, old Jesus Gris, the owner of the antique shop, unscrewed the angel figurine, found a strange box inside, and set Cronos' winding mechanism in motion.

This visually stunning film shows del Toro's unique style and ability to create haunting atmospheres with its blend of mythology long before Pan's Labyrinth or The Shape of Water.

3. Jacob's Ladder

This psychological horror movie directed by Adrian Lyne follows Vietnam War veteran Jacob Singer as he struggles with his sanity and experiences hallucinations and disturbing visions.

Slowly, the main character loses his grip on reality. It turns out that his friend Louis is the only person the veteran can count on. Things take a dark turn when he learns that some of his former colleagues are suffering from the same kind of hallucinations.

Jacob's Ladder is a mind-bending journey that blurs the lines between reality and nightmare, leaving audiences to question their own perceptions.
