Tom Hardy to Embrace His Inner Psycho in New Serial Killer TV Series Lazarus
Tom Hardy and Zazie Beetz are teaming up for the upcoming Apple TV+ series Lazarus and it's shaping up to be one wild ride!
Hardy is going full psycho, apparently, embracing his inner madness just like he did with the iconic character Charles Bronson. And with Beetz joining him as the badass detective trying to bring him down, we're sure in for one heck of a show.
Lazarus is based on the Joona Linna book series by Lars Kepler and has sold over 17 million copies worldwide, earning critical acclaim from big-name outlets like The New York Times and Washington Post.
In the series, Hardy will play the notorious serial killer Jurek Walter, and Beetz will play the police detective trying to find another of his victims. To do that, Beetz's character, police detective Saga Bauer must go undercover in the maximum-security psychiatric hospital where Walter has been kept for years.
Sounds familiar, right?
Well, Apple+ is way ahead of you: it has been already reported by Deadline that the two are set to have a dynamic similar to that of Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling.
This project is still in the development phase, but with Øystein Karlsen writing, executive producing, and directing, we're sure it's going to be a hit. And with Hardy's impressive resume, including his Oscar-nominated performance in The Revenant and iconic roles in Inception and Mad Max: Fury Road, we know he's going to bring his A-game to the table.
As for Beetz, she's no slouch either. With an Emmy nomination for her role in FX's Atlanta and appearances in films like Joker and Deadpool 2, she's definitely got the chops to bring this detective to life.
